Regional anaesthesia education for emergency medicine
This website was developed in conjunction with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and began at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital as part of a practical programme supporting safer emergency medicine regional anaesthesia.
Origins and teaching
The project grew from locally delivered teaching at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, with courses run for clinicians in Bedfordshire and at the College. Its aim is to provide a concise, practical reference for blocks used in emergency medicine, while reinforcing patient selection, local anaesthetic safety, and structured technique.
Key contributors
The work has been shaped by clinicians involved in course delivery and educational development, including Dr Isabel Mansilla and Dr Adrian Lopez Pradere.
The programme also sits alongside wider national work to understand and improve regional anaesthesia practice, including the NAP8 study currently being undertaken.
